Nutritional Genomics
|
What is Nutritional Genomics? Well, Nutritional Genomics is the king of human genomics research and
development! It encompasses all fields of human health, medicine and
wellbeing research at the combined nutritional, biochemical, pathogenesis and
genetic levels.
As such, nutritional genomics refers to the scientific study of:
1. The impact the foods we eat have on our genes; and
2. The way our bodies function because of this dietary impact.
Thus, nutritional genomics can be divided into the 2 respective
disciplines as follows:
1. Nutrigenomics –
Nutrigenomics involves the study of how the foods we eat affect the
way our genes function. What this means is that all foods, and the
types of nutrients and other substances that they contain as well as the
actual amount of each type of nutrient and other substances they contain,
all have very specific affects on how our genes maintain and express themselves.
And, as such, nutrigenomics is also the study of how all of this inevitably
affects our health and general wellbeing.
2. Nutrigenetics –
Nutrigenetics is, in a sense, the opposite of nutrigenomics in that
this discipline studies how our genes themselves determine what our
specific nutritional needs actually are. What this means is that our
genes and the rate at which they express themselves (or, in other
words, the level at which they cause specific systems in our bodies
to do what it is that they do) determines how much of any individual
or collective set of nutrients we require to ensure that any given
function or system within our bodies actually conducts itself at the
level (or expression rate) it has been programmed to. And, as such,
nutrigenetics, just like nutrigenomics, is also the study of how
all of this inevitably affects our health and general wellbeing.
Furthermore
As a further extension of all this, the study of both nutrigenomics
and nutrigenetics also involves how these genetic and nutritional
factors can also result in diseases if they are not properly catered
for in our everyday lifestyle habits (including everything from why
some people get the flu easier than others right through to why
people develop serious diseases such as diabetes and cancer).
Essentially, what all of this means is that our genes are programmed
to make systems in our bodies function in very specific ways and at
very specific levels. And, as such, when it comes to our dietary
habits this then determines exactly what our nutritional
requirements are so as to be able to both properly and adequately
cater for these variations in how our bodies are programmed to
function.
At the end of the day, the impact of all of this is simply that if
you provide your body with all the nutrients it needs to function at
peak performance then your body will not only function at peak
performance but it will also strive to continue trying to improve on
this performance, so long as you continue to supply adequate
nourishment.
However, if you do not provide your body with the proper or adequate nutrients
that it requires then your body will react to this by producing, for
example, an overall body which is smaller, and, therefore, not
requiring as much nutrients to function at peak performance
(relatively speaking – hence "at peak performance" would not
necessarily mean at optimal performance but instead just at the
level it can best operate given the amount of nourishment that it is receiving).
What the body will also do is produce a smaller, less intelligent
brain that also does not require as much nutrients to run at peak
performance (again, relatively speaking, hence "at peak performance"
would not necessarily mean at optimal performance). (Our
Health & General Wellbeing article on
Conditionally Essential Nutrients provides more information
concerning peak and optimal performance.)
A very simplistic yet defining example of how the human body will adapt (or mutate) to a
given ongoing nourishment level is that of how, due to certain
nutritional inadequacies, the bodies of many Asian populations have
evolved to be (relatively speaking) quite small in size so as to
adapt to such nutritional inadequacies. And, as for an example of
how intelligence levels in a given population has decreased due to
nutritional inadequacies, well, we believe that it is simply better
that we just leave that one alone…
Another way that the body can also react to improper or inadequate
nutrients is, for example, that of diseases such as diabetes.
Diabetes is a 100% nutrition and nutritional genomics related
disease in that diabetes is 100% caused by very specific foods that
are not suited for the human body's genetic, biochemical and general
physiological makeup, thus resulting in specific dysfunctions within
these systems.
Cognitive & Psychological Applications
As the saying goes, "We are what we eat!"
In fact, we are what we eat to so much of a strong degree that
different foods and food related substances even alter
the way we think and act!
The truth is that there are many foods and food related substances
that can make us, to varying degrees and in varying ways,
unenthusiastic (including being unmotivated and lethargic – and both
mentally and physically for each), unconfident (including being
phobic and neurotic), non-persistent (including being divergent and
scattered – both of which also relate to a lack of focus and
clarity), non-consistent (including being passive and latent) and
non-hedonistic (including being depressed and suffering mood
disorders – and even also including being apathetic).
And, of course, there are also many foods and food related
substances that will do the exact opposite and, thus, help make us much
more enthusiastic, confident, persistent, consistent and hedonistic.
The main reason for all this is that all foods and most all food related substances alter
the neurotransmitter systems (including the genes involved) in our brains and bodies making them work
either more or less effectively.
Now, as this gets worse and worse throughout our lives, and also
with each new generation, we start to not be able to handle stress
very well. This, in turn, then lends to everything from a lowered
level of intelligence and general cognitive abilities, to depression
and mood disorders, to mental diseases and certain types of
autoimmune diseases, and even to many types of cancers.
So, why do some people get affected more than others?
Well, there are 2 main reasons for this. Firstly, some people are
just simply better genetically gifted to be able to cope with the
constant and continued bombardment of the relative foods and
substances. Secondly, and most importantly, some people at some
stage in their lives recognise that there is something going wrong
and take measures to correct this!
These measures can include any combination of: taking medications;
seeking psychological counselling of some sort; getting fitter and
changing their diet; and seeking out
personal, vocational and spiritual development courses and literature (of which is something
that has gained much momentum these days and that you may also be
able to relate to).
And, for those who do not acknowledge that something is going wrong
they then simply continue to struggle with their ups and downs and
usually end up not only not enjoying life as much as what they could
or should but also not ever really achieving what they could have,
should have and, most importantly, would have liked to have achieved
in their lives.
Furthermore, the main reason that this all gets worse and worse for
these people over time is that the patterns of thoughts, emotions
and actions that result from all the stresses of life start to form
neurological programming patterns within their brains making them
programmed to not only not cope but to do, act and feel things that
are continually detrimental to what it is that they could, should
and would like to otherwise be – or, in other words, preventing them from
being who they truly are and truly want to be.
As part of The Definitive Truth Series our
Health & General Wellbeing series of publications provide
extensive information on what foods cause both our brains and our
bodies to have all the various illnesses, diseases and other general
health and wellbeing problems that we are so plagued with these days
as well as how to alter your diet to not only prevent all these
problems but to also enhance your general and overall cognitive
abilities.
Then, our
Personal, Vocational & Spiritual Development series of
publications, that also form part of The Definitive Truth Series,
provide extensive information on how to break the programmed
neurological patterns and cycles that hold so many of us back so
that we can discover who we truly are and improve our lives by being
who we truly want to be.
What's more, it is now well established that even if you have 'bad
genes' these will actually alter themselves into 'good genes' as you
progress with your dietary, lifestyle and other general changes and
improvements!
Spiritual Life Force Applications
It is both important and interesting to note that all of the
aforementioned also includes in relation to human spirituality. In
fact, not only have we discovered many of the biochemical systems
that are involved in the life force energy of the human body but we
have also discovered that many foods and food related substances
directly impact, negatively, on these biochemical and interrelated
cellular systems.
As part of the
medical treatments and other related consumer products
we are developing
we are also developing formulas that enhance the ability to channel
and utilise life force energy. Included in these developments are
also formulas that serve to compliment life force energy by way of
enhancing one's mood and general cognitive abilities (including
things such as a person's confidence, logical processing abilities,
mental clarity and mental stamina).
These formulas, especially when combined, allow for the enhanced
ability to be able to conduct any
personal, vocational and spiritual development system and strategy with both much greater vigour and
much greater ease.
Of course, our
Health & General Wellbeing and
Personal, Vocational & Spiritual Development publications
also play pivotal roles in further helping you to develop a substantially
healthy mind, body and spirit that will serve you very well throughout
your entire life.
Sexual & Reproductive Applications
Many foods and food related products also play major roles in
our genetic and general biological reproductive capabilities as well as our sexual
appetite and general sexual capabilities.
As such, we have also developed a
Fertility, Maternity & Infants publication and a publication on
How To Achieve Heightened Sexual Bliss that will help you with
both resolving these matters and enhancing your overall reproductive
and general sexual capabilities.
