Advanced Hydrocolloids

The following outlines information relevant to the development pipeline for our Advanced Hydrocolloids technology. For a more general overview of the technology and its applications, please click here.

Although this technology can be utilised for a number of different product concepts, thus far we have only utilised it to produce a range of advanced colloidal silver products.

These potentiated colloidal silver products utilise our Potentiated Electrolysis manufacturing technology combined with the addition of a stabiliser into the brewing process (for more effective and efficient brewing) as well as other active ingredients into the brewed colloid itself (for increased overall antimicrobial, antiviral and general therapeutic effects).


Colloidal Silver Based Product Concepts


We can supply the end product directly as a pure liquid product both to consumers and to other product manufacturers or use it to produce many other types of products in-house, such as:
  • household, industrial and hospital disinfectants;
  • internal and external antiseptics and antibiotics (including products such as acne cleansers);
  • encapsulated colloidal silver gel (or similar) for internal use (this will be for people who do not like the taste of the liquid products, for giving more accurate dosages and for user convenience);
  • antimicrobial wound care and protection products (including products such as adhesive dressings, bandages and aftershaves);
  • antimicrobial products for operative applications; and
  • antiviral products.
These products can be produced as creams, lotions and liquid gels. Furthermore, the products can be made to be used as topical, ingestible or spray applications.

We have also developed a method of making many of our products (especially our creams, lotions and liquid gel products) approximately 6 to 8 times even more concentrated. Essentially, what this means is that we can concentrate the silver content of 1 litre of regular colloidal silver into a product that is around just 150 millilitres.

As such, these products can be made far more lightweight and potent than other products on the market, thus also making them far more cheaper to package and distribute as well as being cheaper in price for consumers yet overall much more highly effective (this is especially true for topical and surface applications).

Many of these products can also be combined with other relevant active ingredients and technologies so as to not only give specific antimicrobial and antiviral effects for specific product concepts but, where applicable, to also give greater overall effects in general.


Therapeutic Applications


Colloidal silver has a well established reputation as being a highly effective antimicrobial and antiviral therapeutic product. However, due to various economical reasons as well as the product concentration issues we have discussed here, there have not been any decisive clinical trials conducted on the wide array of therapeutic uses for colloidal silver.

However, due to the vast superiority of our end products, it is envisaged that our products will have major therapeutic benefits in relation to numerous infectious diseases.

The types of conditions we believe our products will help include those such as: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS); Acne Vulgaris; Gastroenteritis; Urinary Tract Infections; Bacterial Pneumonia; Chicken Pox; Cholera; Common Cold; Influenza; Food Poisoning; Herpes; Mumps; and Rhinovirus.

It is our belief that our products will help to not only serve the growing concerns of resistant microbes but to also serve as a solution for unmet needs such as food poisoning and gastroenteritis.

It is envisaged that the eventual successful outcomes of clinical trials will help allow us to effectively market at many of our products to doctors in hospitals, nursing homes and so on as well as to general practitioners (GP's) and to pharmacists.

It is also important to note that we have already conducted some initial informal in-human intervention studies of some of these treatment areas in relation to: Acne Vulgaris; Gastroenteritis; Food Poisoning; and General Antiseptic applications – and all with extremely positive outcomes.


Intellectual Property Protection


At present no patents or provisional applications have been filed.

However, all patent protectable intellectual property is owned solely by BC Biogenics Pty Ltd.

Furthermore, we have conducted extensive research in the quest to develop what we have established and in this process we have not been able to find any patents or publications that give definitive details to the same extent or matching of what we have established.


Overview Of The Opportunity


Industry collaboration as well as other potential means are being sought in order to further progress the project to the stage of producing various patent protectable and commercially viable outcomes.

Initially, toxicity and by-product testing will need to be conducted on both the primary production method end product and the secondary concentration end product to ensure that there are no dangerous by-products being produced (this is standard procedure for any product of this nature).

After this, or at the same time, antimicrobial effectiveness tests for main concentrates will need to be conducted so as to show how effective they are compared to other leading products. Effectiveness tests will also need to be conducted on our other product concepts that contain additional active ingredients so as to compare their effectiveness against both our main concentrates and other leading products.

Finally, we will then need to conduct a particle analysis of the silver nanoparticles that are being produced by our production method. This analysis would be required for both the full scale liquid version and the more concentrated version. Important aspects of nanoscale silver that would need to be analysed include the particle size, the particle charge and the number of particles (that is, the parts per million (ppm) concentration).

Once all of this has been conducted we will be seeking to file patents in target countries around the world (such as Australia, USA, UK, Europe, India, Japan, China and so on).

We will then be looking to seek out, negotiate and secure licensing contracts with various companies based on geographical locations and the ability of each company to be able to adequately manufacture and market any or all relevant product concepts.

Where required and/or where approached by investors looking to do so we will set up our own manufacturing and distribution.


Approximated Costs


Primary:

Toxicity and by-product testing: $10-20,000
Antimicrobial effectiveness tests for main products: $5-10,000
Particle analysis tests: $20-30,000

Secondary:

Filing of all patents involved: $400,000
Implementation of licensing strategy: $40,000


We are also open to industry partners and others who would like to establish full scale operations in various geographical locations.

Furthermore, we are also open to industry partners and others who would like to conduct the clinical trials discussed and therefore generate a return from the markets this will help to serve.

We are actively seeking industry partners and others to help us reach the stage of filing patents and to develop and implement a licensing plan for this technology.
