Meat Vitalisation Technology

The following outlines information relevant to the development pipeline for our Meat Vitalisation Technology. For a more general overview of the technology and its applications, please click here.

Product Concepts

Our meat vitalisation technology will allow for the production of the world's healthiest, most naturally flavoursome and most nutritious fresh, deli style and marinated meat products ever to be made available. The end products can also be used for pre-packaged meal type products.

We are not only able to produce novel products but we can also utilise our technology to improve upon many different meat products that are already currently on the market (in that they can now be produced to be more naturally flavoursome and far more nutritionally superior).

With the growing trend in raw meat consumption, it is important to note that our raw meat products are the only type of raw meat products that are truly suitable for human consumption. Not only are our raw products much more naturally flavoursome than completely unprocessed raw meat but they are also far more bioactive and bioavailable – thus, the nutrients are fully unlocked (including vital enzymes) therefore allowing for the proper digestion and general use by the human body.

Our processed products will also produce a far more superior cooked meat. Not only is the meat more tender and flavoursome but it is also more nutritious, easier to digest and less susceptible to nutritional damage by many forms of cooking processes than what regular non-vitalised meat is.

We are also looking to try infusing herbs, spices and other flavourings into the meat products using much the same process and principles as currently being utilised for our main products.

Packaging

Our packaged fresh meat products require specific substances to be used as well as a specific type of material to aid in the processing method. For best results, the substances must be placed directly onto the meat whilst the material must either line the walls of whatever the meat is contained in or be placed directly on the meat itself.

However, at present we are using a mock material that is only really suitable for our experimental purposes.

As such, we are seeking to develop a more suitable commercial material and design various packaging products that will have this material built into their walls and surfaces. The packaging products we are proposing include plastic rolls and plastic trays, both of which will be lined with the required material.

Because the substances we use work best when applied directly to the meat, it is also possible that we might be able to incorporate these substances directly into the plastic rolls. This way, customers can choose whether or not they want vitalised meat and, then, once they have selected the portions of meat that they want their butcher can simply roll the meat up for them in the plastic medium. It is important to note that this method will also essentially do exactly the same job as meat that is prepacked in the cryogenic packaging containers you commonly see in supermarkets and the like.

Once patent protected, we will then be able to also sell these packaging products directly to butcheries and meat packaging plants.

Therapeutic Applications

Due to the ease of digestion of our products, it is believed that our vitalised meat products will also serve to help with various digestion related illnesses and general bodily dysfunction.

As such, it is envisaged that our products will have major therapeutic benefits in relation to various gastrointestinal/nutritional conditions.

The types of conditions we believe our products will help include those such as: Gastrointestinal Tuberculosis; HIV related malabsorption; Cystic Fibrosis; Pancreatitis; Pancreatic Cancer (and other types of cancers); Crohn's Disease; Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS); Diverticular Disease and Dyspepsia.

It is envisaged that the eventual successful outcomes of clinical trials will help allow us to effectively market many of our products to hospitals, nursing homes and so on.

Intellectual Property Protection

At present no patents or provisional applications have been filed.

However, all patent protectable intellectual property is owned solely by BC Biogenics Pty Ltd.

Furthermore, we have conducted extensive research in the quest to develop what we have established and in this process we have not been able to find any patents or publications that give definitive details to the same extent or matching of what we have established.

Overview Of The Opportunity

Initially and most predominantly we are seeking industry partners and others to help develop the packaging products, as they will add much value to both the patent and market positions for these products and their technology base.

We will then be seeking to file patents in target countries around the world (such as Australia, USA, UK, Europe, India, Japan, China and so on).

Once all of this has been completed we will then be looking to seek out, negotiate and secure licensing contracts with various companies based on geographical locations and the ability of each company to be able to adequately manufacture and market any or all relevant food and packaging products.

Where required and/or where approached by investors looking to do so we will set up our own manufacturing and distribution.

We are also seeking to explore at some stage in the near future a potential shelf life extension method for the straight raw products. If we can increase shelf life by as much as 4 days or more this will add much value to our products. This project will either be funded by investors or by income generated from royalties and other operating sources.

Other possible processing methods that might be able to be developed and included to produce various other end products will also be explored at various stages. The inclusion of these methods and processes should also be of great assistance in developing a more extensive and profitable intellectual property and patenting strategy.

Approximated Costs

Primary:

Development of packaging concepts: $10-20,000
Patent and general IP strategy development: $20-30,000
National & international filing of primary platform patents: $2,500,000

Secondary:

Further strategy development and implementation: $40-60,000
Implementation of initial licensing and/or joint venture strategies: $150,000
Development of deli and packaged meal products: $80-120,000

We are also open to industry partners and others who would like to establish full scale operations in various geographical locations.

Furthermore, we are also open to industry partners and others who would like to conduct the clinical trials discussed and therefore generate a return from the markets this will help to serve.

Further Discussion & Negotiation

We are actively seeking industry partners and others to help us reach the stage of file patents and to develop and implement a licensing plan for this technology.

We are also open to discussion with industry partners and others to help us further develop and commercialise the various applications for this technology.

If you would be interested in exploring a potential arrangement with us and this project, documentation outlining the technological intellectual property in question can be provided upon the signing of a confidentiality agreement.

Product samples can also be provided upon request.

If you would like to discuss a partnering or other opportunity with us please feel free to contact us.
