Seed Vitalisation Technology
|
The following outlines information relevant to the development
pipeline for our
Seed Vitalisation Technology. For a more general overview of the
technology and its applications, please

Product Concepts
Our
seed vitalisation technology allows for the production of
the world's healthiest and most nutritious seed based food products
(including nuts, grains, legumes and so on) ever to be made available.
We are not only able to produce novel products but can also utilise
our technology to improve upon many of the grain, legume and nut products
already currently on the market (in that they can now be produced to
be fully alive, active and, thus, far more superior in both their
natural nutritional content and their natural flavours).
The products capable of being produced include those such as snack bars, health
bars, dips, spreads, breads and even straight raw seed products
(including nuts, grains, legumes and so on) that are
completely edible and either sold by the kilogram or in pre-packaged
portions (just like current roasted nuts, potato chips and other
similar products).
Furthermore, many other current products will also be able to be enhanced in
respect to their processing methods and/or flavour.
For example,
coffee beans will be able to be processed using our technology so as
to enhance their flavour and without any or as much roasting.
Another example is that of chocolate in that by using our processing
method for cocoa beans they will no longer need to be fermented for
a week or more to bring out their flavours.
Shelf Life Of Products
We have found that straight raw products tend to remain fresh for around 3 to 4 days without refrigeration
or being packaged. However, our initial studies have shown that these
same raw products will last around 10 to 14 days when packaged
and around 20 to 30 days when packaged and refrigerated.
As such, some further studies will eventually be conducted to find a suitable
shelf life extension method for these products. This will be especially useful
once very large scale distributions are established –
especially in relation to that of large supermarket chains, as they prefer a 14 day shelf life
at the very least and, generally speaking, for all intended purposes the longer
a shelf life that we can establish the better.
It is thus far
hypothesised that the same or similar type of modified atmospheric packaging methods
already used with many packaged foods and food storage facilities will
readily cater for the necessary requirements of extending the shelf life of
our end products.
Products such as the snack bars and health bars should naturally
last longer due to them being encased in a emulsion – thus,
they won't be able to oxidise as rapidly and should therefore
naturally stay fresh
for much longer.
Products such as the dips, spreads and breads should be able to last
just as long as other similar products currently on the market
simply by way of being produced in the same manner as such current
products.
Therapeutic Applications
Due to the ease of digestion of our products, it is believed that our
vitalised seed products will also serve to help with various
digestion related illnesses and general bodily dysfunction.
As such, it is envisaged that our products will have major
therapeutic benefits in relation to various
gastrointestinal/nutritional conditions.
The types of conditions we believe our products will help include
those such as: Gastrointestinal
Tuberculosis; HIV related malabsorption; Cystic Fibrosis; Pancreatitis;
Pancreatic Cancer (and other types of cancers); Crohn's Disease;
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS); Diverticular Disease; and Dyspepsia.
It is envisaged that the eventual successful outcomes of clinical
trials will help allow us to effectively market at many of our
products to hospitals, nursing homes and so on.
Intellectual Property Protection
At present no patents or provisional applications have been filed.
However, all patent protectable intellectual property is owned solely by
BC Biogenics Pty Ltd.
Furthermore, we have conducted extensive research in the quest to
develop what we have established and in this process we have not been
able to find any patents or publications that give definitive details to the same
extent or matching of what we have established.
Overview Of The Opportunity
Initially and most predominantly we are seeking to source the funding to
file patents in target countries around the world (such as
Australia, USA, UK, Europe, India, Japan, China and so on).
Then we will be seeking the funds to be able to seek out, negotiate and secure
licensing contracts with various companies based on geographical
locations around the world and the ability of each company to be able to adequately
manufacture and market any or all relevant food products.
Where required and/or where approached by investors looking to do so
we will set up our own manufacturing and distribution.
We are also seeking to identify and develop at some stage in the near
future a viable shelf life
extension method for the straight raw products. This will either be
funded by investors or by income generated by royalties and other
operating activities.
Other possible processing methods that might be
able to be developed and included to produce various other end products
will also be explored at various stages. The inclusion of these methods and
processes may also be of great assistance in developing a more
extensive and profitable intellectual property and patenting strategy.
Approximated Costs
Primary:
Patent and general IP strategy development: $20-30,000
National & international filing of primary platform patents: $2,500,000
Secondary:
Further strategy development and implementation: $40-60,000
Implementation of initial licensing and/or joint venture strategies: $150,000
Later Stages:
Shelf life extension research and development: $50-100,000
Development of additional product range (dips, breads, etc): $80-120,000
We are also open to
industry partners and others who would like to
establish full scale operations in various geographical locations.
Furthermore, we are also open to
industry partners and others who would
like to conduct the clinical trials discussed and therefore generate
a return from the markets this will help to serve.
Further Discussion & Negotiation
We are actively seeking
industry partners and others to help us file patents and to
develop and implement a licensing plan for this Platform Enabling
Technology.
We are also open to discussion with
industry partners and others to help us further
develop and commercialise the various applications for this
technology.
If you would be interested in exploring a potential arrangement with us and this project, documentation
outlining the technological intellectual property in question can be
provided upon the signing of a confidentiality agreement.
Product samples can also be provided upon request.
If you would like to discuss a partnering or other opportunity
with us please feel free to
contact us.
